Kiui doesn't remember. All she remembers is sadness, pain, agony, and grief.Kiui was born a demon — one of the strongest classes of demons: a shapeshifter. Due to her ability to regenerate and replace body parts, along with the fact that she didn't age, she earned the code name "Jellyfish," just like the immortal jellyfish.But unlike other demons, shapeshifters had one additional ability: telepathy. Shapeshifting demons could access the thoughts and memories of the person they mimicked. So every kill and every soul she had taken by shapeshifting, became part of her memory too.She didn't want to corrupt souls, she didn't want to kill — she didn't want any of this. She knew she was different from the other demons, but every time she spoke up, she was silenced.

He was the first person who didn't run from her. Her first friend. They quickly became close. Ito taught her everything about being human, but most importantly, he taught her about friendship. For the first time, Kiui knew what happiness felt like.One day, Kiui found Ito lying in the middle of the forest. She ran toward him. Up close, she saw the light slowly fading from his eyes.Ito: "Please promise me... be good. Even when it's lonely, even when it's hard. Be yourself. No more killing, no more soul hunting..."Kiui: "Ito... You're bleeding. I can shapeshift- maybe I can use the parts- I can..."Ito: "It's too late, Kiui. I'm just a mere human...
